Shifting Brands: Should You Change Your Baby to Fit Your Feed or Change Your Feed to Fit Your Baby?
Although you may drive yourself crazy trying to get every part of your life ready for a new baby, the factor of the matter is, nothing can truly prepare you for the reality of having a child. But one of the hardest adjustments of motherhood is the utter vibe shift it will cause across your social media platforms. How does your baby fit into your feed? Well, thatâs a personal question, and the answer lies within you. With that said, you can use the pool of wisdom from mamas before you to help determine if you should change your baby to fit your feed or change your feed to fit your baby.
If youâre really on your A-game, then you gradually adapted your Instagram aesthetic over the course of your pregnancy to fit your baby, like carefully decorating a nursery with gold and neutrals instead of having your partner hastily assemble a crib in the corner of your bedroom while you went into labor. But not everyone is so able to think ahead. What if your personal brand was âalt-grungeâ before baby, and your Instagram was all used bookshops, dive bar bathroom selfies, and new tattoo reveals? The good news is, there are multiple ways to approach this conundrum. For example, you could post a pic of your partner perusing a used bookstore while casually carrying your baby, to show that your infant hasnât disrupted your primary vibes but is more of a seamlessly integrated accessory.
